Be Still and Know...
Isaiah 46:10 says,
“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” (New International Version)
God has been dealing with my heart about WHO is in control!! I know that God is in contorl as he has known me from the beginning…….and he will lead, guide and direct my every step until the end!!!
Yet, I find myself somewhere along the path of this journey from beginning to end…and at times, honestly, I feel as though God is being silent!!
Why is it, that when often I need to HEAR from God he seems silent?? Why it is that when I feel as though I’m running after him, I cannot seem to catch him? Why does it seem as though God is turning a deaf ear to me?? Why is it, when I seek him...it seems as though he cannot be found??
Why does God have me in a place of “Being Still”??? Being still isn’t easy, and frankly, it’s VERY difficult for me!! My nature is such that I often struggle with resting…sitting.
Yet, through the seasons of my heart God is taking me through, I’m finding GREAT comfort, in my times of quietness, and rest!
Psalms 46:10 says,
“Be still and know, that I am God” (New International Version)
What does the word still mean???
According to Webster it means: “ The state or an instance of being quiet or calm.”
Wow…what a definition. And honestly, our culture today goes against anything that represents QUIET and CALM!!! Yet, my spirit it stirring up within me that God desires for me to be QUIET and CALM before the Lord.
Luke 12:29 says,
“Do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink, do not worry about it!”
Jesus has instructed me to NOT worry. Do not worry about food, drink, clothing, what will happen today, what might happen tomorrow, what so and so thinks….what so and so may be saying, or feeling…etc…etc…..for he knows the Beginning from the End, and he simply instructs me to BE STILL…and know that he is God!!
My prayer today is that God’s peace…floods my soul and that as I rest, in his arms he can offer hope and comfort to me! I’m SO thankful that I serve a God..who allows me to be open and honest with him; and yet, he remains in LOVE with me!!
Trials, and difficulties are part of ALL of our lives…..and God is helping me see such opportunities as a chance for me to run to Jesus….fall apart, and let him REBUILD my hopes and dreams!!!

For me, HOPE is the key in that waiting time. Hope that He truly is at work and has wonderful and exciting things planned for me.
ReplyDeletePs 31:24
24 Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the LORD.
NIV
Ps 33:20-21
20 We wait in hope for the LORD;
He is our help and our shield.
21 In Him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in His Holy Name.
NIV
So cool to know that He is more concerned with our lives than we are!
