I've so enjoyed reading your questions...and pondering how to answer them! I must tell you however, that I'm on medication, so if my answers seem unorganized, let's chalk it up to that!!!
Here's some background....I'm off of work today due to MLK Day....so I scheduled a doctors appointment so that I wouldn't have to miss work to see my doctor. I developed a lump on my left arm about 6 months ago....and of course...I've been watching it and it's NOT grown, but I thought it was time to get it checked out. I also, hurt my foot before Thanksgiving, and well, frankly, I'm tired of hobblin' around on it...so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone at the doctor today.
The lump...well..it's just a cyst....it may go away...and it may not. So that was a huge PTL.
My foot....I have Plantar Fasciitis. Of course, I knew I had it...thanks to the internet, and the great research one can do!! :-)
I of course, simply needed my doctor to confirm my diagnosis. I've been over doing the working out piece....and honestly, I've brought it on myself, due to my 3 mile walk during lunch with my co-worker....and let's just say, some days I haven't taken the time to slip into my GOOD sneakers!!! That will teach me.
I'm on some pain medication, and antiinflammatories, and I'll continue with ice/heat. If it's not better in a few weeks, I'll be back for cortisone injections. Of course, I've heard this is painful..so I'm doing everything I can..to help the healing process. I'll even get to wear this attractive boot:
So, on that note...here are the answers to your ?????
Angie asked:
1) Where is your favorite place to shop?
2) Are you an always late, mostly on time, or generally early person?
3) Do you blog at a certain time each day?
4) In praying....are you a "pray out loud only?...Pray in your heart/mind?..Journal praying?...or something I forgot to add or all?
5) Favorite kind of shoes? i.e. flip flops, sneakers, boots, etc.
6) Name brands or knock-offs?
7) Favorite way to spend a whole day?
1.Believe it or not, I'm NOT a huge shopper. Since I'm a full-time working Mom I tend to spend the majority of my shopping time at the grocery store and Target. But, on those rare occassions when I can steal away some time to shop I enjoy shopping @: TJ MAXX, Marshalls, Coldwater Creek, Bath and Body, and Payless shoes. I'm NOT a brand specific person when it comes to clothing, so I pretty much enjoy shopping anywhere. Since I LOVE a bargin, I enjoy checking out the Goodwill, any type of Thrift or Consignment stores. I have found some GREAT deals.......and often I've found name brand items that STILL have the tag on from the store.
2. I am an always on time person. I'd rather be 1 hour early, than 5 minutes late. :-)
3. Blogging is something I do at random times. Often, I spend time during the evening, when I'm most reflective, writing up my blog, then I generally post during the day.
4. Prayer is a very intricial part of my life, and I practice ALL that you've listed. I pray out loud, to myself, in my heart/mind, and I LOVE to journal. In fact, I LOVE making handmade Prayer Journals. God birthed in my heart a few years ago the idea of having a card, prayer journal ministry that I bless woman with. Often through prayer, God lays woman on my heart to bless them with my handmade cards, and journals.
5. This my friend, is a LOADED question. I AM a shoe fanatic!!! This is a trait that I've handed down to my daughter Ashley...and let's just say....we could open our own Shoe store! lol :-) In the summer, I'm a HUGE flip-flop person (I am blessed to work for a company that allows flip-flop wear to work) in lots of colors. I am also a huge smeakers person having sneakers in every imaginable color...to match every color sweatershirt I have. I also love boots......I have 5 pair of black boots.....some low heel, some high heel, some skinny heeled, some chunky heeled. I LOVE shoes so much that often I buy a pair of shoes....and then I need to find clothes to match them! For me, shoes are like jewlery.....the key work is ACCESSORIES....ACCESSORIES.
6. The only knock-off brands I've ever purchased have been for my daughter. Three years ago I had a co-worker (fashion type designer) who spent a great deal of time in NY city. He LOVES my daughter.....and her taste in style and fashion so he offered to buy her a couple Lui Vuitton knock-off purses in NY city. He did...and honestly, you cannot tell they are fake.
7.One of my favorite ways to spend a day is with my family. Today (Saturday) is a PERFECT example. It's 16 below here......brr....so we are ALL hunkered down at home. We will lay around ALL day playing games, watching tv, cuddling, eating whatever...whenever...and JUST spending the day as a family! :-)
Melody asked:
Here are some questions:
1. What inspires you?
2. What's your pet peeve?
3. If you could thank someone from your childhood, who would it be and why?
4. If you were given a million dollars and not allowed to spend it on yourself, friends or family, what would you do with it?
5. If you had a full day to do anything you wanted for YOURSELF, what would it be?
6. Who is your favorite person in the Bible besides Jesus? :)
1. This is a great question. What inspires me??? Right now the person who inspires me the most is my daughter Ashley! She's given up SO much, to follow the call of God on her life. She's such an amazing example to me of someone who's been willing to lay it ALL down...for the sake of the gospel! She's being stretched....and growing in SO many ways, and each time I talk to her...I hear God's heart!!
2. I do have a few pet peeves. People who are self focused and each time you talk to them you always have a one side conversation with them. People who are late. Gum smacking.
3.If I could thank someone from my childhood, it would be my 3rd grade teacher. She truly was a kind soul, who left such a mark on my heart that often I think of her when I need to be compassionate.
4. This is an easy question. If I had a million dollars, I'd give it MISSIONS!
5. If I had a full day to do anything I wanted I would spend a day at a Day Spa! Now that my friend, would be SO relaxing.
6. Who is my favorite person in the Bible besides Jesus? Each season of my life I find that different people in the Bible stand out to me. During the current season I'm in, Jonah...is my favorite Bible person. You see, Jonah and I have A LOT in common. And just like Jonah...I can run...I can hide....BUT...God knows right where I'm at...and he will continue to call me unto him.....and like Jonah....even though at times I end up in situations that aren't pleasant....God STILL Loves ME....and continues to chase after me, because his perfect will...is really where I need to be.
Anne asked:
1. How did I meet my husband?? Tim and I met back in 1986. He was on staff at my home church as the Youth Pastor and I was away @ college in MN.
2. How long were we in the ministry? Tim and I were married in 1987, and we pastored until 2000.
3. Why did we pick the names we did for our kids? Hum...how did we come up with the names Ashley and Andrew?? I really cannot even tell you.....both Tim and I really loved the name Ashley....and it seemed to fit her when she was born! Andrew.....I've always liked that name as well..although I didn't care for the name Andy.....so we named him Andrew...keeping true to how we felt and he goes by Andrew........ :-)
Denise asked.....How is Ashley??? This is a question I LOVE to answer. Ashley is back safe and sound in Thailand. We received an email from her in the middle of the night and she called this morning. She did tell us while in Myanmar her team was within 10 miles of the 3 bombings they had a couple of weekends ago. Of course, Ashley said they has a hard time hearing about what was happening as the government controls what news information is distributed. Ashley said that her team had been in the exact spot of the bombing, 2 days before it happened.
Again, she expressed just how blessed Americans are, and how much we take for granted! The people of Myanmar have limited freedoms, and the spiritual oppression was very heavy according to Ashley. The muslim religion has so taken over Myanmar that the people of the country have very little say in anything. In fact, everywhere Ashley and her team traveled you saw signs praising Alla.
Ashley's team is now back in Thailand spending a few days of r&r before they leave for a village where they will begin their outreach to the young girls forced into the sex slave industry. Ashley is excited about this portion of her outreach, as God has really touched her heart for these young woman.
Please pray that God moves in powerful ways!!!
We truly serve a FAITHFUL God....and we are excited to hear the great things that God does in and through Ashley and her team.
Well...it's time for me to head to my favorite chair...elevate my foot...and get the heating pad on!!!
Have a BLESSED Monday everyone.
It was fun to read these answers and get to know you a bit better.

It has been fun to read your answers my friend. You take care of that foot and do what the doc says so it can feel better and you too. So glad to hear that Ashley is back in Thailand, I have been waiting to hear that all is good with her. I continue to pray for all of you. Take care my friend and talk to you real soon.
