Our daughter Ashley is back in Pattaya, Thailand finishing up the final 4 weeks of her outreach portion for YWAM. Just this past weekend my husband and I were talking about how fast the past 6 months have truly gone!! God has stretched ALL of us during this time. He’s helped a Daddy and a Mamma…learn to let go….a little more…he’s helped our son Andrew….develop a deeper relationship with his sister while she’s been gone; AND, he’s growing Ashley in ways that are unbelievable!
While in Pattaya, Ashley and her team will be reaching out to the young girls that are entrapped in the sex slave industry. Currently, over 1 million young girls (between the ages of 5-17) are forced into this industry and they are without hope.
As I pray daily for Ashley, her team, and these poor young girls, I’m gripped by a conversation I had with Ashley after her first experience of watching what takes place on the streets of Pattaya. It was heart breaking to hear Ashley describe how most of the men who drive up in fancy cars to buy these young girls…are American men who are in Thailand on business. It truly gripped Ashley’s heart to see how lost, and empty these young girls are!
As I listen to Ashley share, I’m overwhelmed with a sense of how pleased our Heavenly Father is with Ashley. He’s sent her…to this country, to be a light…to share the hope of salvation to many lost and dying girls.
I imagine, in my minds eye, what it will be like when Ashley stands before our Heavenly Father…..as he looks into her eye’s, and says, “Well done, though good and faithful servant”…and as Ashley is ushered into the presence of Jesus..and she see’s…the souls she’s brought with her!!!!
Thank-you Ashley…for giving to the Lord. For giving of your self….for your sacrifices….to answer the call of God on your heart and life!!!! GREAT IS YOUR REWARD!!

Oh Kim, I can not even imagine what you all have been through and the feelings you guys all have gone through. You sure are blessed as a family to have your sweet daughter in it.
ReplyDeleteI will continue to pray for her and those lost souls she will be trying to help.
I've heard that song before, but it didn't really hit me until I saw this video. You got me sobbing at 2 in the morning. I'll have to show it to my kids, too, so they can see how important their work for Jesus is. Your daughter is probably having the most awesome experience of her lifetime. You and your husband are so great to let her go. This is what life is about - serving Jesus.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing blessing and testimony. I think it is so awesome to see a young person so committed and willing to give of themselves when society teaches us just the opposite. She is a living testimony that it can be done.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing her story. I can't wait to hear more :)
