Thankful Thursday...on Wednesday afternoon...

I'm early with my Thankful Thursday post.....this week.....

When we found out that my Dad had cancer, the Lord gave our daughter Ashley 2 Chronicles to hold onto. We often read it when we become worried, or concerned. Our favorite portion is:

2 Chronicles 20: 15 & 16,

This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's. 16 Tomorrow march down against them.

What a GREAT promise to stand on. The BATTLE is not yours...nor is it mine, but rather...it's GOD'S.

So today (Thursday), as my Dad is at the hosptial having a balloning/stent procedure on one of his heart arteries....and having his main neck artery checked out....I'm standing on the promise of God's word that says...He's in control of this battle.

I often wonder what the world does when they face hard life issues, when they have nothing to stand upon???

We truly are a BLESSED people, who are priveledged to call upon the name of our Savior in our day/time of trouble and he's there...walking right along side of us!!!

Father, I'm SO thankful that you are right in the center of this situation. I pray that as my parents make the hour drive to the hospital that you cover them with your sweet...sweet...peace. The kind of peace that passeth ALL understanding. Calm all worry and all fear.

And remind us Father, as we come to you with our prayer requests, to come to you FIRST with Thanksgiving....for truly we have SO much to be THANKFUL for!!

  3. I LOVE that verse! A kind woman who has mentored me has many many times given me that verse---on the brink of every battle! It is NOT ours..but the LORDs and an awesome opportunity for HIM to show us how spectacular He can be and IS!
KIM---even when the enemy attempts to thwart God's plan through attacking His children...God is still sovereign and can work His wonderous ways in our lives...even when we aren't looking. Even when we aren't looking. On our faces before HIM in our prayer room/closet.
I will be praying for you and your family. Your dad has the ultimate PHYSICAN! Nothing happens that God is not fully aware of.
I appreciate you and your call of ministry.
Keep praising. He does HIS BEST works at ground zero.

  7. Hi my sweet friend! I will never forget when I first discovered and claimed this verse. It was in one of the many battles of raising a certain teenage girl. It is so hard to parent a kid who continually makes poor choices. I was feeling so beaten and then I realized that the battle belongs to the Lord! Thanks for the reminder of that today. I will be on my knees praying for your parent's health this week.

    Take care....
    Love,
    Kelley

  10. Kim...Amen! Stand strong for the Lord has fought this Battle! I'm so sorry to hear your dad's test results and I'll stand in pray with you for him and your mom and family. Let us stand on His Promise made here in 2 Chronicles 20! Be encouraged that
our Lord, the Healer...has already taken this and HE is Jehovah Ropheka
and our Great Physician! We pray for safe travel and a wall of protection around your folks!

Since GOD MADE you and me GLAD, we are thankful for all He has done and will do! I love this song and your thankful, joyful attitude.
May Our Lord give you strength and comfort to stand through this battle! You have blessed me with your TT post and now I pray that

God will sustain us and IN ALL things we will praise the Lord! I have said a prayer for your Dad tonight -Blessings, Laurie

  17. I just said a prayer for your dad and will think of him today. I was so thankful for all of you praying for my mom with her cancer and having hip surgery and I am glad that I can do the same for your family. I pray your dad is held in our saviors hands and he is healed if it is our Lords will. I pray the same for my mom. I am so glad we have Jesus to lean on. I truly don't know what the world does without Him.

  22. That indeed is a very powerful passage. I like your question about people not having anything to stand on. I too often wonder where people turn when they are facing a difficult life situation...
I am glad that the procedure did not had to be done on your dad!!!! What a great testimony on trusting God in all things.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.

    Be blessed today and always...
