Would you answer ~*~*The Call????~*~*

What a powerful question to ponder. Yet daily, Jesus stands at our hearts door and asks us this simple question, "will you answer the call?"

What is "the call" you ask? For me, I believe "the call" is making a decision, to take a stand for Jesus Christ each and every day of my life. Jesus calls each and everyone of us to deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow him.

He didn't say it would be easy, it didn't say it would be comfortable, and he didn't say it would be popular. YET he's calling each and everyone of us to take a stand.

~He's calling me and you....and the church to STOP playing church.

~He's calling me and you....and the church to stand UP and be the real church.

~He's calling me and you....and the church to start living a life with absolutes.

~He's calling me and you....and the church to start calling sin...sin.

~He's calling me and you....and the church to draw line's in the sand separating wrong from right, do's and don'ts.

~He's calling me and you....and the church to be set on a hill, "different' from the world.

Are you willing to "answer that call?"

Tomorrow, Ashley will board a bus heading to Washington D.C. for 5 days to participate in "The Call", that will take place on the Mall in Washington D.C. She will gather with thousands...of young people who will FAST & PRAY for our country; taking a stand against abortion, immoratily, and lukewarmness.

Our country is truly at a crossroad, and it's time the church (you and I) take a stand and no longer hide our light under a bussel! 2 Chronicles 7:14 says,

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV)

This is exactly what Ashley and thousands of young people will be doing. They will be praying, seeking, repenting, and turning.....and asking God to heal our land.

Take a look at this link here! Click the play button on TheCall DC Promo V1. If this doesn't give you Holy Ghost bumps.....I don't know what will!

I believe God is asking the REAL Christians/Church to stand....and either change their conduct, or change their name!!

Let's be in prayer as these young people....answer, "The Call!"

  1. Your daughter is a wonderful witness to the power of God's calling in a heart and life. I will think of her in these days.

  2. Praise God for Ashley and young people like her who ARE taking a stand and answering the call. In my small office, I am the only one who doesn't think the Bible should be taken with a grain of salt and its interpretations updated to fit our culture. It breaks my heart, AND it is sometimes sticky because I have answered the call and refuse to compromise. The Lord has enabled me though, and He is my strong tower. The battle is His, and it IS worth it to fight.

I'll be praying for Ashley and her group as they go. Looking forward to hearing about their experience!

  3. I'm going to check out "The Call" in just a minute, but wanted to thank you first - I linked to you through Kelley's blog because I LOVED your statement that God is far more concerned about our obedience...rather than our happiness! I'm just going through a VERY difficult time at work (in a secular workplace, but a job that I love) and my job is being "phased - out" potentially. I'm very stressed, and UNHAPPY - today, my boss even gave me a hug and reminded me that God wouldn't give me more than I could handle (again, a secular workplace!), so I KNOW GOD is in CONTROL, just struggling to trust in it - your comment really hit home that even in the "phasing out" process, I need to be pointing people to HIM, not looking out for my own agenda - so from a blogger in Michigan - Thanks! :)

  5. Kim,
What a powerful post. I just had a conversation with someone today about when you are following Christ, there is a cost. What a nation we would be if we were to turn our hearts to Him. Thank you for the challenge. We WILL be praying for Ashley tomorrow and for this nation.

  6. I will be praying here for your Ashley and all the others who are taking a stand...our nation needs all of us to be on our knees humbled before the Throne.
Thanks for the reminder...you are precious Kim!!!
    Love,
    Denise

  7. Wow! What a wonderful opportunity for your daughter and how awesome that she finds this of such importance to make this commitment at her young age.

This is such a great post and every word is so true. God calls us to do all these things and so often we don't answer. As a song Steven Curtis Chapman recorded years ago states we should be willing to "abandon it all for the sake of the call".

Blessings to you and your family today, Kim!

  8. It is not easy to take up our Cross daily and follow Christ, but the rewards are unbelieveable. Praise God for your daughter. She is strong and bold at such a young age. Praying for Ashley this weekend.

  9. Yes, yes, yes! It has only taken me 40+ years to say I am ready to answer that call! There are a lot of people around me who don't understand or agree with it but that is exactly what I must do! I am so grateful there are girls of Ashley's generation that don't have to wait until they are 40 to figure that out! It gives me hope for my children! I will be praying for her time in Washington!
