July 9th, 2018

Monday, July 9th started as a regular day for my husband Tim and I.  We started with breakfast together, we chatted about our day, said our good-byes with a hug and a kiss and we headed to work.

Tim came home around 9:30pm that evening and he had dinner, we chatted, laughed and caught up on our day.  After a long day of counseling (he was a marriage/family therapist) he often enjoyed practicing his guitar to unwind, and this evening was no different.
I could hear him strumming his guitar in his music studio and they I heard a noise, which sounded like he knocked over one of his guitars.  I waited a few seconds and realized I no longer heard him in the other room so I thought I should go see what was going on.  As I rounded the corner, I saw my husband collapsed on the floor.  I immediate went to him, cradled him in my arms begging him to breathe.  While in my arms, he took 2 huge gasps of breathe....and I knew he was gone.

I ran and called 911 and they had me perform CPR on him until they arrived.  The rushed him to the University of Minnesota East Bank to check out his heart and perform surgery.

We waited until 5:00am July 10th until they had him in his cardiac ICU room.

July 10th, 2018---
Tim is currently at the University of Minnesota Medical Center East bank.  Here’s what we know so far:

*Tim’s heart and breathing are being supported by machines
*The cardiac team went in thru his groin to check his heart and discovered the left anterior descending—also known as LAD was 100% blocked 🙈 They inserted a stent and that went well
*the cardiac team said they get the best results for recovery when the patient arrives with an hour for the incident. Tim got to hospital in 1 1/2 hours.🙏🏻
*There was concern about his brain, however the CT scan came back good!
*For the next 24 hours they have his body temperature cooling so he can rest from the trauma he’s gone thru
*After the 24 hour window the team will begin to slowly warm his body temperature up
*In 5 days or so they will begin the process of waking him up (this could take up to 10 days) hoping his heart and breathing kicks in so they can slowly remove the machines that are currently doing this for him
*The team has said he will be in the hospital 3-4 weeks followed by weeks of rehab
*Quote from the cardiac team “this is a marathon!”

*Please pray specifically for:
*Wisdom for doctors
*TOTAL and complete healing for Tim
*Wisdom, peace and joy as our family navigates these waters!!

 Isaiah 43:2-

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
