It's been awhile since I've updated you all on Ashley, and how her life is going in Maui with YWAM, so I thought it was time. Ashley is greatly anticipating, and counting down the days (31 or so) until her team leaves for Thailand.
I would ask that you please keep Ashley and her team in much prayer as they prepare for their departure as they will be in a sense, going underground into Thailand, to reach woman who are trapped in prositition.
I thought I'd update you through some recent photos. Enjoy~
Ashley was water baptized as a teenanger, but because of the transformation that is taking place in her heart, she wanted to be baptized again...as evidences of her faith in Christ!!! We, as Ashley's parents have been SO moved by her decision!!!
Isn't she adorable???? We are so thankful to see just how happy, and excited Ashley is to be at YWAM. Who would have thought she could be away from home..for the first time...and it's been 7 weeks and she's not homesick yet!?!?
An amazing sun set in Maui....it sure makes ya wanna go and visit!
Isn't this an amazing picture????
This past Saturday night, YWAM had a banquet, and the girls got all dressed up!!
What a beautiful girl! The beauty so obviously comes from the inside (and of course the outside is adorable too!)
ReplyDeleteOk, Mom....so she is not homesick, how are you? :)
I can only imagine how proud you are.
Blessings,
Sue

ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet to ask if I'm homesick for my girl? With the advent of cell phones, and email, it really doesn't seem like she's gone....(although the bathroom is much cleaner :-) however, reality will hit come December...when she's gone for 3 MONTHS....and we aren't sure we'll have much, if any contact with her.
So, why don't you ask me this question...oh...say come..the middle of January..when it's freezin'....and 40 below here in MN? lol :-)
Kim,
ReplyDeleteyou have so much to be thankful for. She is a beautiful lady, inside and out. but she gets it honestly...from her mom (and dad too of course.) I am rejoicing with you.

This may be a repeat post. If it is, please excuse it.
ReplyDeleteI cannot remember who I have met and who I haven't.
I noticed that your daughter is on a DTS with YWAM. So is mine. She left January 17th and is currently in England. I wrote about her leaving on my blog.
They are currently praying about where their outreach is going to be. I know Thailand was one of the countries.
As I said, if I have already introduced myself, just look over my forgetfulness.
So, how are you doing with her gone at this point?
Have you had much contact with her?
From a heart that understands,
Julie
