It's time to take a stand
This morning as I was getting ready for work I was listening to our local Christian radio station; and as I listened to them share, my heart was once again grieved for our Country. They were talking about the process of honoring a fallen soldier at their funeral, and how some are finding it offensive to hear about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as part of this tradition. To read the article, go here!
There are lots of thoughts, opinions about our war on terror, and sides are being taken even within the Christian community. However, war aside, I'm so troubled and happy with where our country is headed.
To think that once again, people find it necessary to remove any mention of God...the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit from the process of honoring a fallen soldier during the flag folding is beyond me. (If you'd like to read about what each of the 13 folds represents, go here.) Yet, should this really surprise us??
I mentioned that I'm both troubled and happy with the foolishness I'm seeing today in America, and here's why.
I shutter at the thought that most people in America view our country as a Godly country. Honestly, our actions speak against this line of thinking. If you doubt that, just walk through your local High School. Trust me, as a Mom of a teenage son, I'm mortified to see the lifestyle parents allow and condone. We live in a world that want to dabble in the thinking that says, "there are NO absolutes"...."the God I serve doesn't judge my lifestyle!"
My heart is so heavy, for those who claim to be Christians, yet they seem to be drowning in the river of confusion. The scriptures are clear that in the last days, even the elect will be deceived. (Matt. 24:24 says) Who is the elect you ask?? It's the body of Christ, those who truly believe in God and have a personal relationship with him. Yet, we see it everywhere...people are being deceived, falling to every wind and wave that our soceity throws at them.
My sister-in-love shared this quote with me, and I must share it with you as well!!
"So many "Christians" don't have a firm foundation in Christ and KNOW the scripture, they are so easily lured to everything "false" that comes on the horizon. They fall for every prophetic gimmick, idea, or scheme that blows their way. I sometimes get the question, "how is the devil going to deceive the masses?" It's very simple to see how when you have so many Christians, yes Christians, following after every emerging doctrine and false prophet that promises prosperity, live as you are, come as you are, and no mention of sin or self sacrifice."
The moral temperature in our country is on a downward spiral and I shutter to think what our heavenly Father thinks as he sits upon his throne?
Yet, with great anticipation, my heart leaps within me to know that soon, my Jesus, will SPLIT the eastern sky and return for HIS bride!!!! Church....what a glorious day that will be.
I challenge you dear sisters, KNOW our JESUS!!! I don't mean, simply KNOW about him, but rather, dive head first into his Word!!! Long for an intimate relationship with him so that you can understand the depths of his heart!!
Too many people today are looking to others....whether that be a pastor, a teacher, an evangelist, a prophetic speaker, (please don't misunderstand me...we do need Godly examples in our lives as are those I've listed above) and at times, even to popular opinion. But wait my friend...Jesus LOVES you SO much, and he desires an intimate relationship with you....for he wants to minister to you directly...he doesn't want you chasing after someone else so that you can hear God through them.
My prayer for you today, is that when the ways of this world bring you down, and you feel as though there is no hope, HOLD fast....for the soon return of Christ....is at hand!!! HALLELUJAH!!!
Blessing to you all this Friday.

I, too, am shocked and amazed at the belief systems the youth of our youth group have. It's an "all roads lead to Rome" mentality.
ReplyDeleteThis also reminds me of my post on counterfeit. We are to study the actual Word of God to be able to recongnize counterfeit.
Thanks for this post. What a great reminder to us to be on our toes and know Christ Himself personally, and what a great hope to us that we can stand firm to the end!!!
This is a great post Kim! I totally agree with everything you said. I just studied Paul's writing in Colossians 2. The whole false teaching and emerging philosophy has weighed very heavily on me - especially since we left a church earlier this year that went emerging - this everything goes is very dangerous.
ReplyDeletethank you for this great reminder!!
